Dyfi Distillery won the Food and Drink Start-Up of the Year Award, kindly sponsored by Kukd.com and the Rural Award Start-Up of the Year Awards. We caught up with them after their win to find out a bit more:

1.) How did it feel to win a Wales Start-Up-Award?

It’s a great honour to be recognised by business leaders in Wales.

2.) How did you find the experience of the Awards night?

It was a really positive environment for progressive business.

3.) How do you strive to make a difference in the Welsh business market?

Work local, think global.

4.) What are your goals for the next 12 months?

We’re aiming to bring another highly innovative gin to market, based on our pillars of absolute quality and a sense of place.

5.) What is the biggest lesson you have learned in the first year of your start-up business?

Always keep looking at what is happening outside your own category of business.

6.) What one piece of advice would you give to any aspiring entrepreneurs?

You are as much defined by what you decide not to do, as what you do, do. Otherwise those last two words might join together.
